The following are the goals of managing the La Mesa Watershed:

• Maintained watershed values for optimal water production.
• Improved and maintained revenue generating capacity of the dam reservoir.
• Enhanced bio-diversity.
• Sustained watershed management systems .
• Adequately installed structures in the watershed to highlight the educational, recreational and aesthetics aspects of the resource .
